jacob's ladder is the brilliant moral based horror movie you've never seen, packed with great dialouge and an imusing story line to draw you in. Jacob Singer(robbins) is an old vietnam soilder haunted by the loss of his 5 year old son. in an attempt to forget the past he leaves his wife for a girl at the post office and soon takes a job their. Unfortunately his memories are the least of his worries. He continously hulucinates seeing insane freakshow mutants stalking him, a man who seems to be following them, and a bunch of friends who are slowly but surely dying. it may sound sketchy but Jacob stays fresh due to its utter randomness and its unrealiability on gore. and just as you think its just another lame horror flick with an underutalized gimmick the script gave way to a whole other layer of the story. the end(probably the reason you've never heard of this gem)feels rushed, its bland Twilight zone wannabe writing makes an absolute joke of everything else in the movie. but this cant ruin a great(if not way over looked)peice of film. See if you can spot Keanu Reeves's 5 second cameo!
